Teaching at Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria
It has been a great pleasure to spend this week teaching at Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria, contributing to international academic cooperation and knowledge exchange in disaster risk management, emergency planning, industrial safety, and resilience.
During my teaching engagement, I had the opportunity to deliver lectures and practical exercises in four courses:
🌍 Contingency Planning in the Area of Natural Hazards – focusing on disaster preparedness, emergency planning, risk assessment, response strategies, and resilience.
🏗️ Critical Infrastructure Protection – addressing infrastructure vulnerabilities, cascading risks, interdependencies, protection strategies, and continuity of essential services.
🌱 Vulnerability, Stress, Resilience – exploring vulnerability assessment, resilience-building strategies, and the capacity of communities and systems to withstand and recover from disasters.
🏭 Preventive Planning and Protective Measures in the Surroundings of Industrial Plants – focusing on industrial hazards, risk prevention, safety planning, and protective measures.
It was also a pleasure to share my book, Disaster Risk Management, with colleagues as part of our academic exchange.
I sincerely appreciate the warm welcome, inspiring discussions, and valuable exchange of knowledge and experiences with students and colleagues at Montanuniversität Leoben.
🌍 Connecting science, education, and practice to strengthen disaster resilience and build safer societies.
